A small fort surrounded by greenery is an evening getaway for people living nearby. The fort is open throughout the year and there is no ticket reservation system. It's situated on the Chennai - Trichy Highway. The buses travelling on this route generally don't stop at this place. A personal vehicle will help you reach the place with ease.

One of the large fort in Tamilnadu... I wasn't expecting this fort would be this bigger.. It doesn't have a much buildings but It does have a lot of information about how the forts would be in the past era.. Even there is not Ticket need to buy for this place the place was maintained and cleaned perfectly when I visited.. there is a pond on top of the hill where you can have a pleasant view around the hills... Must visit place who are interested in Historical Places...

Looks adorable. Highly recommended for historical spot lovers. But my humble request to government, please give some additional importance to unknown places like this and highly needs to be maintained properly. Most of the parts are damaged, but looks good. Vast garden area is there. Can add children play area to attract more visitors

Even though this place looks abandoned, the garden here is maintained well. There's nothing much to see here, just an empty fort. No rooms or anything, just an empty fort. Garden doesn't have much plants, just a few flowering plants and grass floor. Maybe visit here if you got nothing else to do. It would be great if the government establishes few boards talking about the history of the place.

The place is peaceful and located in a small village. So, there's no vehicle noises and no commotion. Only locals are there since it's not a famous travel location but still the place is historic and beautiful enough to spend hours of time watching the surrounding beauty and the fort architecture.

Ranjakudi fort was the focus point during the Battle of Valikondah during 1751, when the British troops supported by Mohammed Ali won over the French supported by Chanda Sahib. The fort is oblong in shape with semicircular bastions, a moat encircling it and three fortifications at different levels, built with cut stone blocks. The fort has a palace, residence buildings, underground chamber and an underground passage that links Pettai (the top level) with Kottai Medu (lower level). The fort, in modern times, is maintained and administered by the Archaeological Survey of India. The fort is one of the prominent tourist destinations in Perambalur.

Climbing up few steps to experience 500 year old Fort 🏰 built on stones carving small mountain #Enjoy the Good view of the village from the top and a good spot to take some photos 📸 #look for watch tower 💈, high tower to position battle tanks, ammunition bunker, punishment well, ancient high lavatory 🚽 #Just 22km from Perambalur center. And 70km from Trichy (Tamil Nadu center). #can spend 2 to 3 hours in the place. Go in rainy ☔ or winter ❄️ to enjoy nature's greenish beauty! 🍀
